The Way of Worship

When you Worship, you are overcome with a joy that is like no other. I will never forget the day when I put away my old lifestyle, and I turned my life to the lord and gave my all to and his plan for my life. Just about 2 years ago, I tossed aside everything and started my journey back to the lord, and it started with only 10 minutes of Christian music. And next thing I know, 10 minutes turned into 1-2 hours a day. Now it is all that I listen to! The way that such music makes you feel is like no other, it is so hard even to try and describe the feeling. To just take a few minutes of your day to worship is so amazing, and it's so easy! You can do it anywhere, your home, your car, your office, or my favorite, in the shower! One of my favorite songs I mentioned in one of my first blogs, "Do it Again" by Elevation Worship, but closely followed behind that is "Build my Life" by Housefires!
I will still remember the first time that I heard this song, and there was just something about it, it spoke to me. But most importantly was when the Bridge, when they hit the part, "And I will Build my Life, Upon your love, it is a firm foundation!" I had goosebumps running down my body from head to toe. It is such a great song that i highly recommend it to everyone!

I started singing at church with the Worship team before service would start, and I was always so hesitant to sing and show my praise in church. I used to see everyone raising their hands, and I never knew what it meant, I grew up in a Catholic church. Going to church was like a workout, sit, stand, kneel, stand sit, stand, kneel, repeat. I remember texting one of my friends who a Chaplin in the Army is and asked him a question, and at the time I felt so silly for the asking of such a question. But once I asked there was such a sigh of relief to get an answer from someone who loved the lord as much I did. It is so nice to have such an amazing man in my life to talk about religious stiff and not be judged.
As time went on, I slowly began to start praising the lord my hands and singing with no care who heard, or judgment about how bad I was. All I cared about was that I was spending time with the Lord in HIS house and taking full advantage of HIS presence with people who shared the same

values that I did. And now today I am just naturally, and it put such a smile on my heart when others notice it. Recently someone at our church was able to catch me worshiping while I was, running lights during service, and had sent it to me over Instagram. When I saw the photo, it indeed shows how I went from a guy who would sit alone in the back of the church and just stand there and sign, to what you see in the picture below. What makes it even better is that this is not the first photo of me doing it at church, others have sent me pictures of me, praising the Lord with all I have. I love that others have come to see my love for the Lord, and they can catch me in such moments of praise for our Lord.
What I would challenge all of you with, is that you start with a small amount of time out of your day and worship! You don’t have to do it out in public, maybe just begin in your bedroom, or in the comfort of a place you like to do things alone. Start with one song, then as time goes on, move up. I can almost guarantee that after a week, you will start to notice small changes. You will feel better, you will see a difference in your mood. You will never know what worship can do for you, till you do it too.
