Adventures

Life is all about the Journey. It's all about finding out who you are, and what you believe. It's about listening to your own voice, and trusting your own heart. It's about following your own path, and chasing your own dreams. - Cody Mackall

The Quote above is something that I told myself back in 2010 when I graduated from high school. And it is something that I have lived by ever sense.

Today I left Clarksville to head to Columbia, SC, for School that starts tomorrow. And as I was driving, I pasted signs for a state park that I have wanted to visit ever since I moved to Clarksville in 2016, but no one ever wanted to go with me. So I decided that I was going to stop, I had the time to spare, and I knew I may not have the chance to go again. As I was walking through the woods, I started down this hard decline, and I was beginning to get second thoughts about continuing, but I pushed on. I got to the bottom and at that point, I was at the river, and there was no turning back at that point.

So I started my way down the river, and let me tell you! The water was quite chilly, granted it is the beginning of April. But I didn't care, I was determined to get to the falls and see the sights that I had heard so many wonderful things about. So I am going between jumping from rock to rock, trying to avoid getting my pants wet the best I could, at one point I rolled my pants up above my knees and just left it. I hit the spot where I had no choice but to get a little wet, so I went in, water just above my knees, and let me tell you again, that water was cold! It was a total of just over a mile and a half of jumping rocks, crossing freezing cold waters to get to the final spot, but once I saw the sights that everyone had told me of, I knew it was all worth it!

When I came around the final bend in the river, I saw this fantastic waterfall, that was easily one of the most beautiful things that I have seen since I got to Tennessee. It was at that moment I knew that it was all worth it. Despite taking a little over an hour and a half detour, the whole trip was well worth it, I say one of the hidden beauties that Tennessee has and truly made my love for the state all that much better.

When you work as much as I do, every once in a while you need a day to yourself, and this day was my day! And it was more then worth the pain and hassle that it took to get to this point!
